Band together
To find your band size, measure your chest under your arms above your breasts. (Measure yourself in front of a mirror while wearing a nonpadded bra, and keep the tape measure level as you pull it snugly around your body.) Round to the nearest even number. If you are exactly in between, round up.
Fill your cup
To find your cup size, measure around the fullest part of your bustline, and round to the nearest whole number. Then, subtract your band measurement from your cup measurement. The answer will give you your cup size: 1 = A, 2 = B, 3 = C, 4 = D, 5 = DD and so on.
Size matters
A properly fitting bra allows your breasts to sit upright and centered. The straps should remain in place during movement.
Your bra may be too small if …
- Your breasts spill over the top of the cups, beneath the band or out of the side seams.
- The band is uncomfortably tight.
- The straps dig into your shoulders.
- You are wearing it on the last hook.
- The center seam doesn’t lie flat against your sternum.
Your bra may be too large if …
- The cups are gaping or unfilled.
- Your breasts are sagging.
- Your breasts shift from left to right when you move.
- The band continually rides up.
