happybabyThe Albert Einstein College of Medicine recently released an informative video that explains the milestones your child should be experiencing as he grows and what to do if you feel your baby is falling short of those markers. In the short video, Lisa Shulman, M.D.,associate professor of clinical pediatrics and director of Infant and Toddler Services at the Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center at Einstein reviews the behaviors a child should display starting at 7 months and moves through age 2. She focuses on three key points:
1. Social engagement
2. Attention to language
3. Communicative effort
In the short film that’s worth watching for both new and veteran parents alike, Dr. Shulman shows parents what key identifiers to look for in both verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as what to do if their child is not demonstrating these milestones. Talk to your child’s pediatrician if you’re concerned your baby is displaying delay in any of these areas.
