When the opportunity to try out a bag from the new TOMS Bags line came my way, I was stoked, because they are one of my favorite companies. If you haven’t yet tried a pair of their classic slip-on shoes, you haven’t lived—they are the most comfortable things I’ve ever put on my feet. (You’ll find the proof in the rainbow of colored TOMS located in my closet.) I was hoping that their bag line would be just as awesome, and thankfully they didn’t disappoint. The Baby Bag Tote landed on my doorstep, and I was smitten from the second I opened the box.

This sleek sack has everything you need: stroller straps, pockets aplenty, a wipeable changing pad, insulated bottle holders, and adjustable shoulder straps. Speaking of the shoulder straps, they’re nice and wide and don’t slip off the shoulder at all—I have a problem with that with other bags, and I was very happy to find that this bag stays right where it should. Should you prefer a messenger style carry, there’s a long single strap included as well.

One of the outside pockets has a zipper closure, which is just genius; I slip my phone and keys in there, and I don’t have to worry about them falling out or my wee one grabbing them. I also really, really love that the bottom is made from a durable, easy-clean material. Cotton bags are cute, but sometimes the bottoms get gross, and that won’t be a problem with this one.

And if the fabulous functionality of the bag isn’t enough, here’s the best part: As you probably know, TOMS is tops when it comes to helping those in need. Money from their bag collection is donated to a cause near and dear to my heart: Safe births for all moms and babies. Every time a TOMS bag is sold, funds are provided to carefully selected Giving Partners (organizations who specialize in the area of need) for vital materials and training to help provide safe births in four different countries on three continents. For every tote sold, TOMS Giving Partners gain the ability to provide safe birth kits, train birth attendants, and ensure healthy deliveries for moms and babies. I definitely recommend this bag for the charity aspect alone. You need a diaper bag anyway, so why not buy one that’s going to make a difference? But, even if it didn’t have that plus, I’d still find it to be a great bag and give it the stamp of approval. It’s well made, smartly designed and darn cute, and I can’t think of a mom I know who wouldn’t want to carry it around town.
