The Summer Infant Right Height Bath Tub is ready to […]
The Summer Infant Right Height Bath Tub is ready to use right out of the box, and assembly takes just a few seconds. The manual is useful and easy to read and understand. The illustrations are simple and make setting up the bath tub very easy. I like the blue and green colors of the tub, and it feels very sturdy—which is always important when your baby is involved.
My son loves to taking baths, and he thoroughly enjoys being in this tub. He always seems comfortable, though I do worry about the bottom of the infant support—it is hard plastic that his bottom rests directly on. I think having a newborn fabric or mesh sling would be more comfortable, but it doesn’t seem to bother my son at all. (Just being a mom, I guess.)
Now that my son has stronger legs and loves to kick, he will bend his knees and push off of the tub, sliding the newborn insert all the way to the back of the bath tub. If your baby isn’t as energetic in the bath, then it shouldn’t be a problem. But if you have a feisty little one, you might wish that the newborn insert clicked into place like I do.
I love the extra height given by the bottom support, so I don’t have to strain my back while washing my baby boy. We use the bathtub every night, and I’m very comfortable with it now. I especially like that the bath tub grows with the child—you can even use the bottom support as a step stool when the tub is no longer needed. I foresee us using this tub until my son is ready to take a bath in an adult-sized tub.
We live in a small apartment with only one bathroom, so storing larger items like a tub can be difficult. If you had a second bathroom for your child where you could leave the bath tub assembled and in the tub, it wouldn’t be a problem. If you’re like me and don’t have the space to do that, you’ll need to find another place in a closet or in the nursery because it’s too large to fit underneath the sink. Currently we store the tub in an upright position in a hall closet.
I have traveled with this bath tub, and although I wish that it were more compact, it is easily used as a basket for other items when traveling. So the space is at least useful in other ways!
The tub is easily cleaned by just wiping it down with a mild soap and rinsing it. I think the price point is reasonable, especially if you consider that it’s a 3-in-1 product (infant tub, toddler tub and step stool). I would definitely consider buying it for myself and recommending it to a friend. It is available in blue and pink, so it would make a great gift for boy or girl.
