As a brand-new mom, I could not have been more excited to try out the Safety 1st Lift LX Travel Stroller, and I have been very pleased with how easy it was to assemble and use. The user manual was very clear with instructions and pictures on the minor assembly. I must say it did require a little extra push to get the back wheels on, but it was nothing I couldn’t handle. It took me a total of 15 minutes with a small hammer, a pair of pliers and zero complications.
After assembling the stroller, I was amazed at the ease with which I could fold and unfold it. I didn’t even have to look at the user manual to figure it out, which is a big plus for anyone who needs to use it besides mom or dad. The stroller folds up quite slim and fits very nicely in the trunk as well as our closet. It even stands up straight with no additional support.
I wasn’t sure about the quality of the stroller at first as most of it appears to be plastic; however, this makes it extremely lightweight, and the car seat is rated a “best buy” with excellent crash protection, which is honestly the most important part to me. While it is mostly plastic, the stroller does not look cheap and is very attractive and affordable. We have the nautical navy color, which is a combo of grey and navy blue. My husband loves the fact that it is gender neutral and that he can feel cool and comfortable going anywhere with it. Also, it will be nice to use for our next child regardless of whether we have a boy or girl.
As the total package, the Lift LX Travel System includes the extremely lightweight car seat with an ergonomic carry handle and an easy to use LATCH system that makes moving it from the car to the stroller a breeze. There is one latch on the back of the car seat that you lift to disconnect it from the car, and it couldn’t be easier to use. Even the base that sits in the car is adjustable to your vehicle. The car seat is equipped with extra legroom with a 14” seat pan length and allows for extended use in the rear-facing position from 5 to 35 pounds with adequate support and an easily adjustable and 5-point harness. The car seat is rated with excellent crash protection as well as side impact protection and advanced energy absorbing foam.
The Lift LX stroller has easy-to-maneuver swiveling front wheels which make navigating a cinch. It is definitely more equipped for sidewalk use, as it is somewhat difficult to maneuver on gravel; however, it is still relatively easy to use on softer ground such as grass. The wheels are versatile with a simple footbrake on both back wheels and the option to stay straight or swivel on the front wheels. There is also a full cover canopy that includes a window for an easy view of my little one during the ride. We clean up those notorious messes by simply wiping down with a damp cloth.
The Lift LX stroller is so intuitive. It is no secret that setting up and breaking down a stroller can be one of the most irritating things to do, especially when you’re in a rush. Fortunately, the Lift LX has an innovative one step fold, and yes it truly folds together in one step and with one hand! Even better than this, it automatically locks when you fold it up, so no worries about it coming apart again as you’re lifting it into the trunk.
There are multiple features that make the stroller desirable for mom as well as baby. There are two large cup holders as well as a spot for phone and keys as well as additional storage underneath the car seat. There is also a snack tray for my little one that is easy to clean as it is plastic and removable. The seat in the stroller has a multilevel recline and goes almost to a laying down position which makes it plenty comfortable for little ones’ who like to snooze while mom gets her exercise in.
While the car seat can hold children up to 35 pounds, the stroller can continue to be used for toddlers up to 50 pounds with a very accommodating harness. Priced at $240, it is a very safe and smart buy for new parents, especially for those on a budget. There are two available colors, Nautical Navy and Honeycomb, both of which are gender neutral and adorable. Honestly, I’m not sure what I would change about the stroller! I absolutely love every part of it.
