The Lansinoh SignaturePro Double Electric Breast Pump is a closed system breast pump, so there were a few extra parts (as compared to an open system). The pumping bottles came preassembled, so you can see exactly how the parts fit together, which was very helpful. The manual was easy to read, and the diagrams were helpful and clear. It is easy to wash and disassemble for easy transport and storage. Reassembling only takes a couple of seconds, but you need to make sure that the white valves are fully attached otherwise the suction will not be very strong at all. The pump comes with extra valves, but it would be helpful to have an extra diaphragm included as well. Transferring pumped milk to storage bottles is very easy and takes me only a few minutes to go from pumping to having the bottles cleaned and on the drying rack.

The pump is easy to use and gentle on your breasts. The ComfortFit flanges are soft and flexible for a great feeling fit—rather than feeling hard plastic pressing into your breasts. The closed system is great for use with a hands free pumping bra because you don’t have to worry about your milk backing up and getting into the tubing. I did have some leaking in one of the breast pump flanges, but I think that could be easily avoided by using a larger size flange.

The pump begins each cycle with a two minute let down mode for greater nipple stimulation, then switches to a suction mode to mimic a baby’s natural feeding pattern. You can easily change back to the let down mode or skip the mode altogether to fit your needs by simply pressing the let down or cycle button on the pump. I preferred the second setting as it seemed to be the right balance between suction and speed. You can also increase or decrease the suction by pressing the plus or minus buttons on the pump.

The LCD screen and timer featured on this pump are incredibly helpful as I am often either half asleep or not paying attention to the time when I begin to pump. I don’t feel like my breasts were ever fully drained, but this also could be because of the size of the flange. I feel like the noise is equally loud as compared to other breast pumps. After a while, I just block out the noise, and it almost puts me to sleep.

My favorite features of this pump are the size and the battery option. I love that this pump is not only adorable, but it’s very easy to transport and use on the go. I cannot begin to express my appreciation for the battery operation mode and how helpful it is to have the ability to be able to pump wherever you may be. For me, it was stuck in Atlanta traffic on a road trip back home. My fears of not being able to pump were immediately alleviated because I remembered that I had put batteries in the breast pump. Just make sure that you only use the battery power operation as backup as the suction will decrease as the batteries begin to die.

I really liked that it came with so many extras: a carrying tote, two bottle stands, disposable breast pads, a Lansinoh mOmma NaturalWave nipple and cap, two breast milk storage bags, a sample of the lansinoh hpa lanolin, and valuable coupons! If I could change anything about this pump, it would be that larger size flanges were included to give even more option for better pumping. I would recommend this pump to friends and family because of its size, affordability, and customizable speeds.
