Wednesday, Isaac turned 10 months old, and had his first day of Kid’s Day Out. Of course, I had to take his first day of school picture!
I can’t get over what a big boy he’s becoming. He is so close to trying to walk. He pulls up on everything, and cruises along the furniture. Any day now he’ll be a toddler. Oh, my baby is growing up!
The first day of school was just a two hour “get to know you” day, but I did what any self respecting suburban mom would do…I hightailed it to Target, got an iced coffee, and reveled in my “me” time! It was fantastic. I’m sure glad Isaac has a day out. I, ahem, HE really needs it.
In all seriousness, I’m really excited about him going to Kids Day Out. He trends toward shy in social settings, so I think it will be great for him to have a consistent place to socialize with other kids his age. I can’t wait to see the things he’ll learn and do there this year.
I’m also looking forward to having some time to run errands, or come home and work during the daylight hours. Hopefully I can be really productive during those days!
His teacher said that he was a little apprehensive, and wanted to be held a lot, but was well behaved and had a great first day. Later that afternoon he developed a fever that we’ve been battling since. (More on that later.)
Taking him to “school” has had me thinking about what it will be like in 5 years when I have to send him off to Kindergarten. I get totally depressed just thinking about it. I won’t know what to do with myself! I’ll probably just go to Target.
