Giuliana Rancic on motherhood, fashion and her favorite diapers

“Being a mother is so much fun—as they get older it gets even better!” gushes Giuliana Rancic, E! News anchor and mom to 7½-month-old son Duke. As a new mother, Rancic opts for a comfortable look that doesn’t sacrifice style. Her go-to mommy outfit is anything that doesn’t require a lot of buttons and that is easy to wash. “A comfortable dress with no belt or waistband is my go-to,” she says. “The simpler the better.” But simple doesn’t have to mean boring. “There are so many stylish pieces out there now that are super comfortable and colorful. Little dresses are easy to throw on and off. And then add a statement necklace and you can go from day to night.” For shoes? Even though she is a flats fanatic, Rancic keeps flip-flops and pumps in a bag in her trunk.
Fortunately for Duke, his fashionista mama dresses him adorably as well. He even had his own stylist for a photo shoot on the family’s television show Giuliana and Bill on Style Network. “You know you are a cool dude when you have a stylist at 7 months.” she laughs. “He had on these little jeans that were rolled up, suspenders, and an argyle sweater. It sounds like a fashion nightmare, but believe me, it worked together. Joan Rivers would definitely name him Best Dressed of the Week.”
As far as time-saving tricks are concerned, Rancic has learned a thing or two. Buy duplicates of inexpensive toys and keep one in the car. “There is nothing worse than searching the house for Duke’s favorite toy.” Also, she got a new ’do. “I’m able to spend more time with my son instead of blow-drying my hair. It has made things so much easier. Plus, he doesn’t tug on it like he used to!”
