Fisher-price Rock'n Play Sleeper
The Rock ’n Play Sleeper is an excellent product from […]
The Rock ’n Play Sleeper is an excellent product from Fisher Price that is versatile and useful while remaining extremely simple.
The sleeper can be used as a daytime play seat for infants and is stable and secure enough to be used as a sleeper overnight. It is lightweight enough to be carried throughout the house or up and down stairs with ease. The frame can be collapsed almost flat with the push of a button on each side, making the sleeper very convenient to store or toss in the trunk of a car. The two button “Easy Fold” mechanism is simple to operate without being accidentally unlocked. The seat itself is deep enough to ensure safety while providing comfort. The seat can recline at an angle for babies who sleep better with their head slightly raised. The padding of the seat is easily removable for washing and is just as easily replaced (as opposed to other seat pads that come off simply but seem impossible to get back on correctly). The sleeper rocks on a curved base with plastic stops placed at each end of the runners to prevent going over too far. As it will not automatically rock, a handle across the middle of the sleeper might have been a helpful addition, but it’s still very easy to rock the sleeper. The ease of carrying and folding the sleeper more than make up for that small point. The Rock ‘n Play sleeper sits higher than some other seats, making it very convenient next to the bed and much easier getting baby in and out. The simple, lightweight convenience of the Rock ‘n Play Sleeper makes it an excellent portable option for an infant sleeper.
Weight Requirement: Birth to 25 pounds (The sleeper also has developmental guidelines for use until the baby is able to pull up or sit unassisted.)
Describe the assembly process. (Was it complicated? Were the instructions clear? How long did it take to put together?)
The sleeper is very easy to put together with simple, concise directions. The instructions also include clear pictures of each step. Since the sleeper is very simple, there are not a lot of parts to assemble. With a second person to steady the unit while the legs are attached it only takes a few minutes to assemble.
Does the product rock? Vibrate? Play lullabies? Light up? Or have any other notable features?
The sleeper rocks at the base. It will rock easier on a hard floor than on plush carpet but even then it does pretty well. The most notable feature of the product is that it can be used both as a play chair during the day and an overnight sleeper, being lightweight and portable enough to make the transition easy.
What size is the product? Is it compact and suited for small spaces or bulkier and intended for roomier venues?
The product is very light and compact, collapsing almost flat for storage or transport. When collapsed it is very easy to carry up and down stairs or shove into a closet.
What is your favorite aspect or feature of the product?
Along with its portability, the higher seat is an excellent feature of the product. This makes it much easier to get an infant in and out. It’s also perfect for sleeping next to the bed. The storage pocket at the back of the seat is convenient for storing a favorite toy or pacifier.
What would you change about the product if you were able?
The addition of a handle for rocking the sleeper, especially when on deep carpeting, would be a handy help.
Does the suggested retail price seem reasonable, considering the level of quality?
The suggested retail price of $50 is reasonable for this product. It seems to be of excellent quality.
If you didn’t already have the product, would you consider purchasing it? Would you recommend it to a friend?
