Love the nursery featured on the cover of our 2012 Buyer’s Guide? Me too! I’m a bit biased though, you see, because I’m the lucky one who got to pick out the furniture and decor. (My job is pretty great, right?)
We knew we wanted the nursery to feel fresh and cozy, and we also wanted it to be mostly gender neutral (so readers could feel inspired regardless of whether they were expecting boys or girls). Lastly, we wanted it to be a beautiful baby room on its own, but not be so bold as to detract from our gorgeous (and brilliantly styled, thanks so my colleague—and work friend—Erin Shea Long) model. Other than that, the world (wide web) was my oyster, and so the hunt began. I began choosing pieces I loved and collaborated with our Creative Director, Fashion & Style Editor and photographers to ensure everything fit together just right for the shoot.
I’m really pleased with how the nursery turned out, and I hope all of you lovely readers like it too. I put together a little board below to help you see all the elements of the room, in case you’re curious. Perhaps something will catch your eye!

P.S. Have you picked up your copy of Pregnancy & Newborn’s Special Edition Buyer’s Guide? It’s on newsstands now, so if you haven’t yet, you definitely should! There’s even more nursery inspiration to be found inside, as well as all the goods and gear you’ll want to be in-the-know about during pregnancy and baby’s first year. Happy shopping!
