With our first two children, we did not use a Moses basket. Instead we chose a pack n’ play and bassinet. But with our third, we opted for a Moses basket for the following reasons.
1: We wanted something portable that we could move easily around the house. Also, we loved the idea of being able to take it when we travel so that the baby will have a familiar bed to sleep in.
2: We wanted something that was smaller, more cozy for our newborn, especially since our baby was premature. She sleeps best in a space that is snug.

One thing I like about the Moses basket is that it fits easily into our trunk, making it good for trips to grandma’s house. And when the time comes to store it, I know it will not take up too much space in my child’s closet. Do keep in mind when storing it, that this product does not fold up compactly. Also, the product is dry clean only which might pose difficult for some moms. My baby has acid reflux and spits up quite a bit. I have spot cleaned it several times but it would be much easier if I could just throw it in the washer. In addition, it would be nice if it included a stand. That way, it could be used as a bassinet when the baby is sleeping in our room. (Don’t let that deter you though, you can buy stands for Moses baskets at baby stores if this is an important feature to you.) Initially, I thought the price point of $100 seemed a little high. But after researching other brands of Moses baskets, I found out that they range anywhere from $75 to $150. Since this is a hand-crafted product, it is better quality than most and definitely worth the price.
