As an active mom who enjoys daily walks and jogs, I’ve found the BOB Stroller Strides Duallie to be a real treat.
When the box arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find the assembly to be so simple. (No tools required—hallelujah!) The manual was easy to follow, and stroller was ready for a test-drive just five minutes after arrival.
BOB Stroller Strides DuallieThe stroller accommodates two passengers, in the case of our family, a 3-year-old and a 5-month-old, and it’s large and roomy, which I love. It has a weight capacity of 100 pounds, including both riders plus cargo. All three wheels snap off easily and the body lays flat for storage. Folded, the 34-pound stroller fits into the back or the front seat of my mid-size SUV with no problem. It is difficult to maneuver around stores that are not stroller-friendly because of its width (30.5 inches), but this is not uncommon in a side-by-side stroller. Fitting through standard doorways, which typically measure 36 inches, is not an issue.
The quality of this stroller is impressive. The air-filled wheels are heavy-duty, making it easy to transition from pavement to grass to other terrains. There are two suspension positions, which can be adjusted based on the weight of the load you’re pushing. (Use position 1 for less than 50 pounds, and position 2 for more.) The shock absorption is noteworthy and really provides for a smooth ride. I love the swivel front wheel, as it offers a quick and efficient turn. The front wheel can also be locked into place for easier navigation on jogs or rough terrain. The Stroller Strides Fitness Stroller Duallie is designed for heavy, continuous use, which is certainly my intention for it as our family continues to grow.
I am totally smitten with the comfortable seating of this stroller (as are my kids). The seats are independently adjustable, with the ability to recline slightly to about a 70-degree angle. The harness is snug and truly exceptional. Both my toddler and infant are able to sit upright in the stroller, strapped in, and remain flush with the back of the seat as I go over bumps. The neck savers do their job perfectly, making this, hands down, the most comfortable stroller for passengers yet. There are even small mesh pockets on either side of both passengers seats for stowing toys or books or pacifiers within reach.
The stroller does not include a place for snacks, but a Snack Tray can be purchased separately for $50. Another worthwhile accessory is the Single Infant Car Seat Adapter (Duallie) ($85), which allows the stroller to be compatible with various Graco infant car seats. (Adapters for single-passenger strollers are available for Chicco and Peg Perego infant seats as well.) Keep in mind that even the Duallie model can only accommodate one car seat at a time, so while it’s ideal for families with siblings of different ages (such as ours), it’s probably not the best option for twin babies. Both the snack tray and car seat adapter are quickly installed by “clicking in” to the built-in accessory adapter slots on either side of the stroller. The seats are easy to clean using a baby wipe or other fabric-worthy wipe.
The independent canopies are large and adjustable to multiple positions, so you can provide as much or as little coverage for each passenger as desired. I’m really impressed with their size; they extend so far they nearly reach my tot’s knees! The generously sized peekaboo window is great for checking in on activity up front. I love the huge foot brake—it’s so easy to use. As far as storage goes, the stroller is equipped with a roomy under carriage basket and two large mesh seatback pockets.
The Stroller Strides Fitness Stroller comes with a Stroller Strides Fitness Kit, which includes a handlebar console, Stroller Strides exercise manual and exercise tubing. The console boasts two cup holders and a zip pocket at my fingertips, but since it’s for a Duallie, I would like to have seen one extra cup holder (one for each kid, plus one for their exercising mama!). The three rubber workout bands are a nice touch, and the stroller is obviously a perfect choice for a workout.
For the mom or dad who wants to have a stroller of the highest quality that will flex with their family and offer amazing opportunities for both walking and jogging workouts while providing a safe and comfortable ride for their little ones, BOB’s Stroller Strides Fitness Stroller Duallie is an excellent option. Price-wise, it is worth every penny, as it’s an instantly usable stroller that will last through many years of daily use and hard workouts. I have and will continue to recommend this stroller to my friends and family.
