Baby Bump

Life at our house is finally starting to look a little rosier as my nausea slowly fades. (And just in time for our upcoming trip to England—whew!)
I can muster cooking dinner a few nights a week now, and I’ve actually been staying up a bit later than our 2-year-old son.Needless to say, I think my husband is feeling just as relieved as I am.
Now that I’m feeling better, I’m noticing another sign of pregnancy—a not-so-little baby bump.
During my first pregnancy, I couldn’t wait until I was showing.I went shopping for maternity clothes well before I needed them, and wore tight tops to accentuate the little bump I did have.
This time, of course, is a bit different. We’re visiting my in-laws in England next week, and we’ve been excited to tell them in person about our new little one.So we’re trying to hold off telling others until after our trip.
But at this point, my belly is unmistakable. Since it’s been a warm summer, it’s hard to hide under baggy shirts and sweaters. I’m shocked that people come up and ask me if I’m pregnant. Since I’m a terrible fibber, there’s not much I can say but “yes.”
I’ve also left wearing loose-fitting tops and maternity shorts. At the moment, I have a pile of shirts that I hope (fingers crossed!) will fit me for a few more weeks. And I’ve started ordering some new maternity duds to add to what I already have.
Of course, it’s all very exciting.During my last pregnancy I thoroughly enjoyed the second trimester and most of the third as well.I had more energy than I expected I would, and I was able to remain active up until the week before I gave birth.I’m hoping that this time around, I can maintain that energy level again. With a toddler to chase after, I feel like I need all of the energy I can get.
