Between carrying my baby and carrying my baby’s things, it’s safe to say my shoulders and back are feeling a little more worn out than usual. It’s seems I always have something in my arms, strapped to my chest, or slung across my shoulder. I received a lovely diaper bag from my grandmother at my baby shower, but after two weeks of hauling it around, I realized it was weighing me down—literally.
7amEnfant_0So you can imagine my delight when I was offered the opportunity to review 7 A.M. Enfant’s Barcelonafrom their new Voyage line. I was already a fan of the brand (we use—and love—their Le Sac igloo footmuff in our stroller and car seat, which I would highly recommend), so I was eager to try another product from their collection. And I’m glad to say, the bag didn’t disappoint.
The Barcelona is made from a lightweight, water-repellant material that can be folded and squished to take up minimal space when not in use. This also means the tote isn’t cumbersome on its own; it basically only takes up as much space as the amount of stuff packed in it. (You know those bags—ahem, the one my granny gifted me—that are huge and bulky even when you only have two diapers and a wipes case stuffed inside? This isn’t one of them. Thanks heavens.)
However, don’t be fooled into thinking that just because the Barcelona is lightweight it isn’t suitable for heavy-lifting. It’s up for anything and has accompanied my daughter and me to the park, library, beauty salon, grocery, our favorite lunch spot and more. It comes with stroller straps, a changing pad and an insulated pouch for all our out-and-about needs and the pocket situation inside keeps us organized. I’m also a huge fan of the two exterior pockets, which are where I like to keep my phone and keys and my daughter’s pacifier for quick and easy access.

The skinny straps are the perfect length for resting comfortably on on my should, and they do a great job of staying put. If I could change just one thing, I’d consider adding a zippered closure to the main compartment. It’s only happened once, but it was a pretty big bummer the day I bent over to tie my shoe and the upper 25 percent of the contents of my bag fell to the ground. Wah-wah.
The Barcelona is available in 18 (eighteen!) different colors, ranging from metallic silver to neon green with something for everyone in between. At less than $100, the price seems very reasonable, especially considering the long-lasting nature of 7 A.M. Enfant products.I’m a fan!
