I originally wasn’t going to get a co-sleeper, but now I’m so glad that I have this one! Baby loves napping in the Baby Delight Snuggle Nest Surround XL and its portability makes it convenient for moving her from room to room around the house.

The Baby Delight Snuggle Nest Surround XL comes fully assembled. (My favorite!) All you need to do is put the batteries (two AA) into the night light, clip it on and you’re good to go. Because there is virtually no setup, the instructions in the manual are minimal—mostly how to use the sound player.

The sound and light unit clips on to the top and has two sound options: music or womb sounds. The nightlight is very gentle, not too bright, but not too florescent. However, I wish the sounds played a little longer than the five-minute auto-shutoff. It’s not long enough to get baby into her deep sleep, and then you have to turn it on again.

The extra length in the XL model means that baby doesn’t bump her head or feet up against the top or bottom (which annoys her greatly). Our daughter will likely learn to roll over before she outgrows the length. The rigid sides protect your little one and make the co-sleeper a great place to nap—we use it on the floor while we’re getting chores done or on the couch. Baby especially likes the Snuggle Nest Surround for naptimes, when we don’t swaddle her, because she still feels contained and cozy. When she’s awake she likes to stare at the fabric sides to entertain herself.

The incline insert keeps baby’s head slightly elevated, but is entirely detached, so you can take it out if you don’t want to use it. The mattress is cushy and soft—and as an added bonus, waterproof! The mattress pad cover is easily removable for washing. (It’s white, so it’ll need it!) Also, the entire outer cover unzips and comes off, so you can wash it too if needed. (Both it and the mattress pad cover are machine washable.)

The Snuggle Nest Surround’s folded profile is slimmer than I thought it would be, which makes it excellent for travel and storage. It folds up from either end, which means that you can fill the interior with a blanket or clothes—perfect for a quick day trip to grandma’s house. The sleeper is extremely lightweight—under 5 pounds—and comes with a convenient handle, so you can easily grab and go. The size and portability give mamas the option to give baby a convenient nap spot in unlikely places. My husband is able to let baby snooze or stretch next to him while he works on his lesson plans. This way they can spend time together, while he can still have his hands free to be productive.

The Baby Delight Snuggle Nest Surround XL comes in several different fabrics, all of which are gender-neutral, which makes a great gift for a gender-surprise or for future use with siblings.
