When my daughter turned 5 months old, I knew it was time to start researching different activity centers (or “jumpy-things,” as her dad calls them). Thankfully, it didn’t take long for me to stumble upon the Summer Infant Pop ’N Jump.

What you’ll first notice about this particular activity center is its size and portability. We’re lucky enough to live very close to all of our family, which means we’re always over at someone’s house. Even though they’re family, I’m certainly not going to ask them to keep extra things at their house just for when we come over. This is where the Pop ’N Jump really comes in handy!

It’s incredibly easy to setup and break down. I mean, it comes fully assembled right out of the box—what more could you ask for? To set it up, all you have to do is slide it out of the travel bag (similar to what a fold-up camping chair comes in), and pop down the two metal latches to keep it in place. It weighs 13 pounds and hardly takes up any space in my car. It can easily fit under a couch or crib for storage when not in use.

There are three adjustable height settings, so it can grow with your baby. Now, the Pop ’N Jump is recommended for children ages 6 to 12 months, but my daughter has been able to use it comfortably since she was about 5 months. The manual suggest that baby’s feet touch the ground, so if your little one’s toes aren’t quite there yet, even with the lowest height setting in place, you might need to wait a little longer.

There are four toys included: A rubber tree stump (which is great for teething tots), a spinner ball, a rattle and a mirror book. My daughter loves the spinner ball the most. In my opinion, this is the only area where there could be some improvement. We all know how short a baby’s attention span is, so the more enticing toys there are, the better.

As far as cleanup goes, I don’t think it could be any simpler. The seat is detachable and machine washable, so if a blowout should occur, have no fear! Luckily, we haven’t had any major blowouts … yet.

The detachable sunshade is also a really nice feature to have. It pops on/off and can be adjusted to the perfect angle to block the sun. We live in the south, so this will definitely be put to good use when we’re enjoying the outdoors in the summertime.

Overall, my daughter really enjoys the Pop ’N Jump, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to any of my friends or family members.
