BOB 2016 Revolution FLEX Duallie Strollers & More

BOB 2016 Revolution FLEX Duallie

"Like all BOB strollers before it, the Revolution Duallie is a dream to use and easy to transport. When the front wheel is unlocked and in walking mode, the large stroller can practically spin in a circle. Very convenient!"

We have had a single BOB stroller since our first son was a newborn. Like most BOB owners, we have loved it. With our second son now more than 6 months old, the time was right to graduate to a double stroller. We couldn’t have been more excited to take the BOB 2016 Revolution Flex Duallie for a spin!

The jogging stroller arrived in a nice compact box and was easy to unpack. From there, all it takes is a quick installation of the wheels (no tools required) and a quick pump of the tires, and you’re good to go. The whole process takes less than five minutes. Assembly could not be easier!

As noted, we are experienced single BOB users, so the look and feel of the Duallie was very familiar. The stroller is set up like two single strollers side by side. Each seat has its own canopy that open and close independently and provide a lot of coverage from sunlight or rain. The canopies also have retractable shades (aka peekaboo windows) on the roof that allow you to see each seat from the handlebars even with the canopy extended. The seats can also be independently reclined with an easy adjustment from the back of the stroller. We found that the recline feature is much better on this new 2016 model than our older BOB, and the seat can go much farther back. This is really nice for our little guy and makes it easy for him to take a nap even when strapped in. The seats also have side pockets for storage and adjustable 5-point harnesses. You will feel very comfortable that you can safely strap your kids in.

The handlebar is obviously much bigger than a single stroller, but it is still very comfortable to manage. BOB has made it easy to adjust the handlebar up and down depending on the preference of the person pushing. An optional accessory bar is sold separately that adds two cup holders and a zipper pouch, which is a nice place to set a phone or keys and not worry about either bouncing out of the stroller.

Like a lot of strollers, there is a cargo area underneath the seats. This can be accessed via the back of the stroller. The wheel brake makes access a little tough, but we have been able to get a lot of stuff under there. It’s a very good spot to put the things you never want to be without when out and about. For us, that is diapers, wipes and snacks. The Duallie is large enough that you can fit a lot under there! Keep in mind, though, that whatever you fit under there you’ll have to push around!

Like all BOB strollers before it, the Revolution Duallie is a dream to use and easy to transport. When the front wheel is unlocked and in walking mode, the large stroller can practically spin in a circle. Very convenient! Also convenient is that the stroller is wide enough for two comfortable seats, but narrow enough to get through a standard door. We have taken the Duallie to stores and museums and have yet to meet a door the stroller can’t get through. The clearance is sometimes pretty tight, but the Duallie makes it! When you are ready to go home, the Duallie collapses via two switches on the handlebar and a pull cord on the back of the stroller. The stroller is obviously larger than a single stroller, but still relatively light and not hard to pick up. It comes with a built-in clip that keeps the stroller from unfolding, making it much less unwieldy to pick up and move around. If space becomes an issue, it’s easy to remove the wheels to make the stroller even more compact. Once you are ready to use the stroller again, all it takes is a quick flip of the handlebars to get the stroller back to the upright position.

Now, about what the BOB was made for: jogging! Getting the Duallie into jogging mode is as simple as a switch on the front wheel. That will lock the wheel in place and make it more stable at higher speeds. Even with the rigid front wheel, the Duallie still glides along. Jogging is another time you’ll find the adjustable handlebars come in really handy. The position you like when pushing the stroller may be different when running or walking. Again, BOB has made this an easy adjustment to make. Also easy (and handy) is the ability to adjust the stroller if you find it pulling to the left or right when in jogging mode. We found our Duallie was a little out of alignment out of the box, but the manual provides easy instructions to get the stroller rolling straight! Pushing two kids instead of one is definitely more work, but the BOB Revolution Flex Duallie makes it really enjoyable!

Even with all these amazing features, BOB has still put in more! As with previous models, the stroller has built in shocks that can be adjusted to provide the ride you are looking for. The handlebar also has a wrist strap that allows you to keep connected to the stroller even if you lose your grip on the handlebar. The upgraded model (which is the Pro edition, we tested the Flex edition) comes with a handbrake and disc brakes to help stop the stroller, especially when running downhill. There are also additional optional add-ons including a snack tray and infant car seat adaptor.

We could go on and on, but by now you should be getting the picture. The BOB Revolution Flex Duallie is a really great double jogger. If you are in the market for such a thing, you won’t go wrong with the BOB. It may not be the cheapest option, but the stroller still packs a lot of bang for your buck. With color options of blue, black, orange, and green, you are definitely going to find an option that suits you well. Go get yourself one!
