I’m not a “mom jeans” kind of mom, but I’ll admit that style has slipped further down my list of priorities. Lately, with a newborn and a 3-year-old, I’ve felt like I’m one sweater set away from buying a minivan. But that feeling has changed thanks to just one accessory: the Petunia Pickle Bottom Tailored Tote.

There’s a new bag in my life—it’s stylish, functional, well-made and just for me. This tote looks nothing like a diaper bag. It’s gorgeous and, by extension, makes me gorgeous. (That’s how it works, right?) It would do well as a work bag or could easily hold what you’d need for an overnight stay. My last diaper bag was a backpack and I loved it … but it is now my husband’s.
Alright, let’s get down to details. The bag is well-constructed and made of coated canvas and vegan leather. It wipes clean with a damp cloth (or even a baby wipe in a pinch. Like that time I left a peach in the bottom of the bag for a week). Babies need bottles and this tote has roomy exterior pockets on both sides to hold them. These open pockets are also great for stashing a phone, sunglasses and other mommy items.

There are three pockets inside. One side has two open pockets that can hold a wipes case and changing pad, both of which come with the bag. I usually put those in one pocket and use the other for diapers. The pocket on the other side is large and zips closed, while the bag itself has a snap closure. There are loops inside for stroller straps, a cross-body strap or any accessories that hang. I use it for my keys.
When we’re out, I wear the bag on my shoulder or in the crook of my elbow. The straps are not adjustable but they are comfortable. The tote fits in the baskets of all the strollers we’ve used, and it sits tall enough in them to grab without reaching under the stroller. Another plus: The bag stays upright with the help of feet on the bottom. I can reach in and out without accidental tip-overs … that means no searching for fallen pacifiers under the booth at a restaurant. Yuck.

This is now my everyday bag and I am more than pleased with its performance. I get compliments on it all the time. It’s beautiful and comes in three colors with modern patterns—I have the Indigo. I thought I would miss the bells and whistles of other bags, like insulated bottle sleeves or additional interior pockets … nope. The Tailored Tote is roomy and can fit what I need for both kids while we run errands. From dipes and wipes to bottles and juice boxes, this bag works—and it looks nice, even on days when I don’t.
