With three kids under the age of 4, babywearing is not only a personal preference but an absolute necessity in my life. Being able to have two free hands to assist the toddlers with snacks, the monkey bars or an outfit change while tending to the baby is a lifesaver! In addition, I love the feeling of strapping the baby onto my chest and being able to peer down at the sweet and snuggly face resting comfortably. However, not all baby carriers are created equally, and this is a product where comfort for both parent and baby are critical. Happily, the Stokke MyCarrier Front and Back Carrier delivers where it matters most.
With comfort in mind, I decided to put the Stokke MyCarrier to the ultimate test during a family weekend at the happiest place on earth: Disney World. The MyCarrier is made of a breathable mesh material that is lightweight and doesn’t add any bulk, which was pivotal in the Florida heat and amusement park lines! The carrier folds fat and fit easily in my suitcase. The material is durable, washable and very high quality.
The Stokke MyCarrier is super easy to use, and the picture format of the manual makes it simple to assemble and wear. I had my baby girl comfortably strapped in within minutes of opening the box. It’s is designed to grow with your child from newborn (7 pounds) to toddler aged (up to 33 pounds). Its prime feature is that it can be worn in three positions: as a front carrier with the baby facing inward, front carrier with baby facing outward and as a back carrier.

For this trip, we tested out the carrier in both front carrying positions. Baby girl was clearly a huge fan because she was asleep within minutes of being worn. She seemed very comfortable and, more importantly, well-secured and supported. The carrier is ergonomically designed and developed to support the baby in a healthy position. The broad seating position has great support for the back, buttocks and thighs. Further, the soft cotton padding provided a nice cushion for her little body, and she was able to snuggle right in.
Despite wearing the carrier for most of the day, I too, felt very comfortable. The wide waist belt, back support and shoulder straps are made of a padded fabric and didn’t dig into my skin or leave my back aching. In the front facing position, my baby rested on my chest and was able to take a few great naps while we waited in long lines and had lunch.

Changing the position was easy to do and does not require any new parts or assembly. She seemed to love being able to see everything and take in all the sights of Disney. The back carrier position is designed to be used carrying a child who can sit unassisted from the age of 9 months. The seat can be adjusted when the child is approximately 18 months to ensure a better view for the child.
The Stokke MyCarrier has been our go-to carrier ever since, and we have had many babywearing experiences at the park, supermarket and even around the house while I am cooking dinner. This is a great product to use as an everyday carrier. It’s perfect for a stroll around town or a dash into the grocery store.
