The Evenflo Deluxe Advanced Double Electric Breast Pump is an excellent product that is worth every penny. For first time moms, deciphering the world of pumping can be awfully daunting, but Evenflo makes it much easier with their simple ‘how-to’ manual.

Most breast pumps have a manual that comes with, but I thought this one was more informational than most I had seen. There are easy to follow instructions and pictures of all the parts and how to assemble them correctly. In addition, it covers how to sanitize and clean the parts as well as additional information on how to properly store breast milk. Assembly was extremely easy. While I do wish there were fewer parts, as cleaning them all is never fun, every pump I’ve ever seen has pretty much the same pieces.

The actual pump unit is pretty compact and relatively easy to use. I read the instructions but had to mess around with it a few time before I figured it out. You can manually adjust the suction and speed settings, which is a great feature. The manual also spells out how to adjust the settings based on when you are waiting for your milk to let down versus when it has let down. This ensures you pump the maximum amount of milk from the breast in the shortest amount of time. While this all made sense to me, the confusing part was turning the pump off. There is no on/off button, so you need put it on the lowest suction setting—and then press and hold it to turn it off.

One issue I have, which is not unique to Evenflo as most pumps are like this, is that you often have no free hand when you are double pumping. So when you need to adjust the settings for milk let down you find yourself holding both bottles with one arm, so the other can change the suction.

My favorite part about the Evenflo Deluxe Advanced Double Electric is that there is a battery backup, meaning if you needed to pump somewhere without an outlet—you can! If you are a breastfeeding mama, I am sure you have found yourself needing to pump at in-opportune times. Being able to use this pump in the car has been a great help to me more than once. There are plenty of ice packs and storage for the milk, which is nice. I do wish you could get to the pump by unzipping the front of the bag.

The Evenflo Deluxe Advanced is an excellent pump for the price—retailing for about half of what many other pumps cost. If you are looking for a budget-friendly option, I think this is the perfect product for you.
