As a woman who’s husband is adamant about not wanting to carry a floral diaper bag—and as a mom who’s not interested in being the sole diaper changer of her 6-month-old son, I’ve been very pleased with the Shoreline. The bag is not cutesy or feminine, but rather pulled-together and classic. I ‘m happy to carry it (the tan goes with everything) and my husband is too. Success!
The bag sports a surprising number of pockets and extras considering its low price. It comes with a “dirty duds pouch,“ (which is essentially a small-to-medium waterproof zippered bag for, as it’s name implies, soiled clothes or bibs) as well as good-sized change pad. The tan interior offers one large pocket with Velcro closure, two insulated bottle pockets and one zippered pocket. The bag’s quite spacious and can easily hold several diapers, wipes, a small blanket, bottles, bibs and a change of clothes.
The outside of the bag has feet on the bottom to protect it from dirty surfaces, and the faux leather trim makes the bag appear more expensive than it is. The Shoreline has two exterior side bottle pockets and one front pocket. Between the interior and exterior, there are four bottle pockets total—a desirable feature not just for thirsty babies, but for those of us parents who like to carry along a bottle or two of water for ourselves. And if (OK, when) any of those bottles should spill, the wipeable surface should allow for easy cleanup.
The Shoreline is undoubtedly large, but is not unwieldy—even when it’s full. I like how the long double straps give me the option of carrying the bag with my hands as tote or slung over my shoulder as a shoulder bag. Although the quality is not quite on par with some of the more expensive diaper bags on the market, the affordability makes it a wise choice for families on a budget. It may not last a lifetime, but if treated well will likely last through most of your diaper-toting days.
