    Bam Crib Set

Modern baby gear is all about conversion: high quality goods that will transform to grow with baby as his needs expand. Argington's Bam Crib Set sets out to do just that.

The set includes the Bam bassinet and crib conversion kit. Both come in matching ebony or white (from solid birch and birch plywood) or natural bamboo. The pieces are very solid and smooth, obviously well constructed.

I was a little nervous about setup, but the assembly was much easier than I thought it would be. There are only a few streamlined pieces that screw together to form each configuration, and while the bassinet does have to be dismantled to build the crib, the crib uses the core pieces of the bassinet, so there's less to store.

The bassinet is nice and compact, on four lockable wheels for easy relocation throughout the house. It comes with a foam mattress pad and cover, plus two sheets, so you have everything needed to get started. The crib is also an efficient use of space. Its curved edges give it a dramatic yet soft look, and because the lines are simple, nursery design options are limitless. The fixed rails do make it tougher to get baby in and out, but I've heard that this construction is safer and can mean the crib will last longer.

In my opinion, the Bam Crib Set is a fantastic value- a perfect big ticket registry item that will take you through baby's early years in style!

    Price:$585 (bamboo $799)
