Many moms tend to drift toward peers who practice similar parenting philosophies, but don’t count someone out as a potential companion simply because you don’t immediately have much in common. Mothering tends to break through barriers and unite folks who might not otherwise connect, so give that co-sleeping (or sleep-training) gal a chance. She might just become your new BFF.
For your sanity, try to find at least one friend who’s close enough to help you out in a pinch. You never know when you might need someone who can—and will—be by your side within minutes of your call.
