The First Years’ Kickin’ Coaster is more than just a bouncy seat.
Stick in a few batteries, and this seat will play two different kinds of music, vibrate at two different speeds, and—what really sets it apart—become an interactive muscle-building play zone for your baby. The seat features a springboard that baby can kick for a fun return: gliding motion, twinkling lights and music. It’s kind of like an arcade for babies.
The seat is extremely easy to assemble—no tools needed except for a screwdriver to get into the battery case. Cleaning is also a breeze: the cloth is machine washable, and the plastic toys are easy to disinfect with a Clorox wipe. The colors are quite vibrant in green and yellow (they may be more baby-pleasing than decor-flattering, depending on your home palette).
Versatility is number one with the Kickin’ Coaster. Music volume can be set quieter or louder (although the quiet setting is still well above a whisper). Music choices are active music or sleepytime music. Vibration can be set lower or higher. In the kick-and-play setting, lights and music go off to reward baby every time he kicks off from the platform, encouraging gross motor skills, muscle and strength development, and cause-and-effect recognition. The seat is easily adjusted to accommodate different heights, and the seat can lock in place if you ever choose not to use the glide motion. An infant head rest and teething toy are detachable as baby’s needs require.
