I have to admit that I’m a sucker for modern baby gear. I’ve been known to spend way too much on gear for my little guy’s nursery, simply because it’s all just so darn cool.
Needless to say, my husband doesn’t embrace this little habit of mine with open arms, since contemporary gear doesn’t always come cheap—which is why I was psyched when Modern Nursery offered to send us a bloom Coco lounger for review. In fact, they’re also giving one away to one of you lucky moms reading this post … but we’ll get to that later. Right now, we’re going to talk about the new love in my life: Coco.
BM-CCC_dtThis bouncer is oh-so-modern and stylish, and every single person who has walked in my house since I got it has commented on its high style. It is truly eye catching, in a very good way.
It arrived in a huge box, but that’s because the base is one solid piece—no pieces to put together. (Hooray!) You can choose either a cappuccino or natural base (read: dark or light wood) and you also have several seat color options. The seat pad is made from a micro-suede/micro-leather material that is easy to spot clean and also just downright cozy. Like with Sarah’s review of the Svan bouncer earlier this week, the Coco baby lounger offers a self-rocking motion, allowing baby (or mommy) to call the bouncing shots. There’s also a 5-point harness for baby’s safety.
Since I’m known as a tree hugger in some circles (which I’m quite proud of, by the way), I’m impressed with the fact that bloom crafts their loungers out of wood from certified sustainable forests, and also does without lead, phthalate, PVC, AZO dye and other yucky stuff.
The Coco lounger can be used until your baby reaches 26 pounds. I wish that it had some kind of toy attachment option, because let’s face it—moms like it clean, but kiddos like something to entertain them. However, if you’re all about the style, you’ll love this chair. It blends in seamlessly with my decor, and my little one really seems to enjoy hanging out in it. It also bounces easily with his movements.
The price tag, however, is pretty steep … $199 at modernnursery.com. These days, it would be pretty tough for my family to afford that, so we would have to seriously weigh the cost before making the purchase. However, if you’re willing and able to pay the price—and I’ve seen you out, you Bugaboo-pushing moms—you’ll love the bloom Coco lounger.
