More and more often lately, Isaac is taking really good naps. We’re talking 2 to 2.5 hours at a time. I wasn’t sure I’d ever see this day, and I really hope that he keeps it up. This kid has always been a cat napper, averaging three naps a day, but only sleeping for 30 to 45 minutes at a time. You know, just not quite long enough for me to accomplish much of anything.
This new 2+ hour nap thing is rocking my world. (And I’m praying this post doesn’t jinx it.) I actually have time to accomplish something during the day. Like cleaning, or packaging orders for my shop, or even writing blog posts! If this keeps up, I might not have to stay up til midnight every night to get things done.
Anyway, the napping is trending toward good. I haven’t been one to keep a strict sleep schedule for him. I’ve sort of let him lead the way. When I can tell he’s tired, I put him down for a nap. If we’re out and about, he sleeps in the car between stops.
Truth be told, I’m sure if you charted his naps, there would be a schedule of sorts, but I haven’t declared “nap times.” I know some kids, and some mamas, thrive on set schedules, but it’s just not something that works for us. Maybe this is the beginning of a more set nap time?
Tell me, did you set specific schedules for naps? Am I the only one who wings it?
