Choosing a stroller can be tricky business, but choosing a double stroller can be an even bigger struggle. One thing that I learned when pushing one tot around is that lighter, more compact strollers are definitely the way to go.
This is even more important to me now that I have two little ones to maneuver through the world. The Maclaren Twin Triumph is an ideal pick for a mommy (or daddy) of two. It is light enough to easily unload and unfold alone without breaking your back. It folds and unfolds like a dream, and it doesn’t take up the entire back of my car.

My children are currently 3 months and 2 years. My 2-year-old is a little wild man, so allowing him to walk while I push my 3-month-old in a travel system is simply not an option. I needed a double that could be used beginning at birth. The Twin Triumph can not only be used at birth, but also features an independent recline, a must for smaller infants. I love that I can recline my infant while keeping my toddler in an upright position to view the world. It features a 5-point harness that works great for both my infant and tot. My passengers seem quite comfortable and I am confident knowing that both are safe.
Compact and easy to maneuver
One of my big concerns when choosing a double was deciding between a side-by-side or tandem. I liked the idea of the tandem because it seemed easier to maneuver, but hated the idea of my baby’s view of the world being the back of a stroller seat. So when I settled on the side-by-side, I knew I had to get one that wasn’t a huge monster or impossible to get through doorways, clothing aisles, etc. Basically, I didn’t want to be one of those people that completely cleared the walkway of the mall creating a path for her huge monstrosity of a stroller. The Twin Triumph is known for its compact design, and I love that it I can take it just about anywhere without much concern. I’ve never had a problem getting it through a doorway or any other reasonable space.
This is my go-to double stroller, however, it does have some limitations. I do not recommend it for rough outdoor walks. It pushes beautifully on hard floors or paths, low pile carpet, and even works great on gentle outdoor terrain, but is simply not designed for pushing up and down rocky paths.
Storage
I’m a bit picky when it comes to stroller storage. I just never seem to have enough space! One thing that is sometimes sacrificed with a lightweight stroller is storage space and unfortunately that’s the case here as well. The under-stroller storage on the Twin Triumph is adequate, but not ample. I could certainly go for a bit more room, but I’m willing to take the tradeoff for the lighter weight, more compact design.
Other features
The Maclaren Twin Triumph has a lot of great features that one would expect from a high-end stroller, but the Twin Triumph boasts a very reasonable price tag. It includes a water-resistant sunshade that is appropriate for the size of the stroller and includes a raincover just in case you get caught in a downpour.
Overall, I absolutely love the Maclaren Twin Triumph. It is compact, maneuvers well, and is comfortable for my children—a big thumbs up!
