Britax is a name that carries some clout among my group of mom friends, as their car seats are widely recognized as some of the safest on the market. My own personal experiences with the brand have always been very positive, so I was excited to give the Chaperone stroller a try.
BritaxChaperoneUpon inspection, I saw that the Chaperone stroller delivers the same no-nonsense construction as Britax’s car seats. You can tell this is a company that doesn’t cut corners when it comes to quality—the heavy-duty frame and thick fabrics are top notch. When it’s unfolded, the Chaperone pops into place securely, leaving no doubt of its sturdiness. The stroller is not extremely light (25 pounds) or compact, but it is fairly narrow for maneuvering through tight spaces.
There are also several convenience factors that really make a difference for me:

  • I love the storage. There is a giant basket under the seat, and the parent tray is more useful than most, with two cup holders and a closed compartment for personal items. The removable baby tray has room for a cup and finger foods.
  • The handle is height adjustable. At 5’7”, I appreciate a little extra handle height, especially when I’m wearing heels.
  • The one-step brake is easy to use, and the indicator window is very clear—red when the brakes are on, green when the brakes are off.
  • The one-hand fold is really unique. You just grab the handle located in the middle of the seat and pull up. The stroller folds inside out and locks into place.

This is a comfortable ride for my little one, and I appreciate that as well. The seat, back and sides are lightly padded, and the fabric is appropriate for all weather conditions. The glide is smooth with durable tires and all-wheel suspension. The seat reclines so baby can snooze under the canopy while on the go. The five-point harness keeps baby comfortably secure, although the straps could be a bit wider.
The Chaperone also makes a great travel system when combined with the Britax Chaperone car seat. The car seat meets Britax’s stringent safety standards and comes with an easy-to-use adjustable headrest and super safe anti-rebound bar. When the stroller and car seat are combined, the canopies completely block baby from the sun, offering a safe, sheltered ride.
