It feels like you can do a million things with long hair, but a practical short ‘do can be tough to fix in a hurry. Here are four quick fixes for hair of any length.

[tip:] Celebrity stylist Danilo says, “Accessorize! There are so many easy and attractive hair accessories available, such as headbands and clips. Also, human or synthetic clip-in hair can be a fun transformation to long hair for just one night.”

Tim Rogers, of Charles Worthington London, suggests soft waves. “For shorter wavy or coarse styles, create finger waves on dampened hair with a frizz smoother and gel mix.” This look works beautifully for hair like Katie Holmes’.

“For fine hair, the second day without a wash can mean more volume. Try a texturizing spray just at the roots and blow dry hair with a round brush in the opposite direction. You’ll get shine, volume and grip,” says Rogers. We just adore Audrey Tatou's (pictured above) short locks!

Michael Shaun Corby, global artistic director for Alterna, suggests this for pixie cuts like Michelle Williams’: “Style your bangs by pushing them to the side or clipping them back. Work some styling gel into the hair and blow-dry while messing hair with fingers.”
