the umbilical cord, your son’s penis will need to be kept clean and dry, although this is a little more difficult to do while he’s wearing a diaper!

[tip:] Keep your son’s circumcised penis clean by gently washing it with a warm, wet cloth.

[tip:] Some doctors use a Plastibell to assist with the surgery and healing process. It should fall off on its own in 10 to 12 days, but watch for too much swelling near the device and contact your pediatrician if it doesn’t fall off within two weeks, as it may have to be cut off.

[tip:] If your doctor didn’t use a Plastibell, he will probably recommend applying petroleum jelly with a gauze pad at every diaper change for the first few days following the procedure.

[tip:] A little blood in a diaper will be normal. Too much blood, as well as a fever of 100
