The Nap Nanny landed on my doorstep at the perfect time.
My husband and I were getting ready to leave for an overnight trip and I was dreading disassembling my son’s baby hammock, which he typically sleeps in, to take along. That’s why I was so pleasantly surprised to pull the Nap Nanny out of the box fully assembled, with even the comfy soft cover in place. I quickly breezed through the one page of directions and plopped my son in the Nap Nanny. He loved it immediately. He smiled, looked around, and cooed in delight while I finished packing for my trip. I couldn’t believe how happy he was just sitting in it. What a relief it was to be able to put him down, do other things, and feel comfortable while he was awake. Up until this point I was lying my son on his nursing pillow, which he would quickly slide down into, leaving him frustrated and me constantly pulling him back up to a safe, more comfortable position.
After observing my smiling little 8-week old in the Nap Nanny, I decided to do something a little crazy. I decided to leave his cumbersome, difficult to assemble baby hammock at home and only take the 3-pound Nap Nanny on our trip.
When we arrived at our hotel it was so convenient to pull the Nap Nanny out of our car, feed Charlie, and place him in it without having to assemble anything. He went right to sleep without a fight, which was a huge relief, especially considering he had been sleeping in the car for six hours already. Charlie had several good stretches of sleep and I felt comfortable knowing that he was sleeping safely in his Nap Nanny.
Since we have gotten home from our trip, the Nap Nanny has become one of our favorite pieces of baby gear. Charlie loves to just sit in it and look up at the ceiling fan and I love having an opportunity to get a few things done without holding a fussy baby. In fact, he’s playing in his Nap Nanny right now and has taken two great naps in it today!
I love the Nap Nanny for my little one because it is a convenient, comfortable, portable place for him to play or sleep, but it also has great benefits for babies who have common baby ailments. Because the Nap Nanny elevates babies 30 degrees, it is excellent for little ones with reflux, colic, colds or stuffiness, gas, and ear infections. The Nap Nanny website also has some great photos of the Nap Nanny in use with twins which seems like a wonderful idea.
The Nap Nanny, or Captain’s Chair, as my husband likes to call it, has quickly moved to the top of my list of favorite baby gear.
