I ordered at least twelve diaper bags before settling on the perfect one. The look on my hubby’s face every time a new Nordstrom or Amazon box arrived was pretty comical: “Another one? Really?” The bag I finally settled on had a hefty price tag, but I wanted to treat myself. After using it for the last two months, I am starting to realize it’s not so perfect after all. It has way too many pockets and is heavy when I fill it. Enter the timi & leslie Dawn diaper bag!

It’s a neutral color and pairs nicely with anything I wear. It doesn’t look like a diaper bag at all. It’s just the right size, not too big or too small. The Timi & Leslie Dawn diaper bag is in no way gender neutral, but my husband did compliment me when he saw it saying, “That’s a diaper bag? You should get rid of that other one you got!” You can’t make up this stuff. The Dawn is made from easy to clean faux leather and has gold finish hardware. I would prefer real leather, but, of course, that increases the price point.
Screen Shot 2014-09-11 at 12.08.11 PMThe Dawn is fairly light when empty. It holds everything you need for a day outing. I tend to overpack to be prepared for any situation, and I am able to fit everything into this bag nicely. There are three exterior pockets and six interior pockets. Sometimes it seems like just enough space, but other times so many pockets becomes overwhelming. Most of the pockets are zippered, but the interior pockets are open. The top of the bag zips close, which I prefer as opposed to a bag that has a flap closure. It’s very easy to get into on the fly. The interior is water resistant with a light colored lining, so I can easily see everything in the bag. When the Dawn is full with all of my necessities, extra bodysuit, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, emergency formula, pacifier, safety kit, face wipes, pacifier wipes, hand sanitizer, emery board, colic drops (whew!), the bag is still surprisingly lightweight! That is so nice since every other piece of baby gear is so heavy. The bag also stands on its own when I set it down on the floor.
Screen Shot 2014-09-11 at 12.08.21 PMThe shoulder straps are the perfect length for me. The Dawn hangs on my shoulder nicely, but you can also just carry the bag as a tote. It comes with a cross body, adjustable detachable strap so you can wear it hands free, a feature that I love! The bag includes matching stroller straps, which you can attach or not. They are not stitched into the body of the bag.
Screen Shot 2014-09-11 at 12.07.49 PMThe Dawn also boasts several fantastic accessories that many other diaper bags do not have. I know this because I’ve tried out so many, remember? The changing pad that’s included has a front mesh pocket where you can store your diapers, wipes and creams when you just want to make a quick diaper change trip.  For example, when you’re dining out and need to change baby’s diaper (yes, new moms and dads, you will go out to eat again) and don’t want to bring the whole bag into the restroom with you, the changing pad works great. This bag also comes with a zippered sac to store soiled clothes. Love this! I try not to leave the house without a plastic bag for this exact reason, but now I don’t have to worry about that.
Lastly, my favorite little extra, there’s an insulated bottle tote included that will keep bottles warm or cool. I use the Kiinde bottle system, which has large bottles, and it fits in the tote perfectly.  While I don’t care for it, the Dawn includes a matching clutch you could use as a purse.  There’s an inside key fob as well, so my keys won’t slip to the bottom never to be found again!
