    Teutonia t-200

    Teutonia t-200

Check out this pretty little gem! I had the pleasure of road-testing my teutonia stroller this past weekend, and folks, it was indeed just that: a pleasure (for both my tiny passenger and me).

But before we talk about performance, let’s talk about options.

Teutonia offers a line of fully customizable strollers. You can choose amongst three different chassis options, two wheel types, three seat varieties (carrycot, infant car seat or regular stroller seat), and 12 fabric and 10 accent choices. Such an extensive level of customization means you can create a stroller that truly fits your lifestyle; plus, you can add to or change your stroller as your growing babe demands. (Oh yeah, and you can easily spend an hour on the site just playing around with different combinations—it’s kind of addicting.)

So, for my stroller, I choose the t-200 chassis since I’m a big runner and hiker (well, was anyway!) and wanted to get back in shape postpartum. To accommodate my trail runs and park play dates, I opted for the metro 60 wheels. (Both available options seemed like good picks to me, but I thought the metro looked cooler.) I went ahead and got the t-stroller seat (in an adorable and cheerful plum garden print!), since my wee one’s almost too big for the carrycot and we have another travel system we use.

For us, the teutonia is going to be most used for jogging and walking, not so much for traveling or quick trips to the store. And it’s awesome for those things. Although the stroller is heavy (upwards of 30 pounds) and does not fold super compactly (it takes up most of the available space in the trunk of my sedan), it offers a luxuriously comfortable ride, maneuvers fantastically, is uber stylish and of tremendously high quality. While I wouldn’t want to lug it in and out of the car too often (you have to removed the seat from the chassis for the most compact fold), it’s perfect for storing in our garage and pushing around town.

Some other details worth noting: the generous storage basket holds all our “must-brings” with ease. Although a rain cover is included, the water-resistant canopy repels light rain, offers SPF 50+ protection, and extends low enough to shield baby from the wind as well. It also has a convenient see-through panel so I can keep an eye on her and a zippered pocket so I can keep my cell phone—or snacks—easily accessible. The footrest and handlebar are adjustable, the seat reclines, and the hand break lets me stop the stroller on a dime. Oh, I should also mention that this little number was a cinch to assemble!

The bottom line: while the teutonia is not compact or lightweight, it is a solidly manufactured product that is ideal for luxuriously strolling around town.
