I am madly in love with my new Offi Ply-Grid Shelves from Modern Nursery.
Since I’ve expressed in a lot of my previous reviews my love for simplicity, it’s no surprise that my favorite part of this shelf is how simple and functional it is. We originally planned to use it for toy storage in our playroom, but my hubby and I like it so much that we find ourselves constantly coming up with other uses for it. It seems a shame to tuck it away in a back room when we could be showing it off to all our visitors.
The Offi Ply-Grid Shelves unit is aptly named, since it is exactly what it claims to be: a grid of shelves made from veneered plywood. There’s no hardware involved in assembly, and it’s super easy to put together—so easy, in fact, that my 10-year old daughter was almost able assemble the whole thing on her own. (I wasn’t breaking any child labor laws—she just loves putting stuff together!) It’s light enough to move easily (good for us, since I’m constantly rearranging things) but sturdy enough to stick around for the long haul.
In my opinion, this shelving unit would be a good investment since it can be used for much more than just nursery needs. I only wish they offered it in more colors—not that I don’t like the Baltic Birch option (I actually do, very much), but a variety would be nice in case your decor doesn’t mesh well with the light wood. Overall, though, it’s a great, well-made storage shelf that would make a nice addition to most homes.
