After entering motherhood and taking a close look at Mother Earth, I have jumped full speed ahead aboard the organic train. To think that my little man and future generations of my family will tred this Earth for many years to come made me reassess the decisions I was making in terms of my carbon footprint.
lifestyleWith this dramatic turn to living a more eco-friendly lifestyle, there have been some bumps along the way. One big problem for me was the fact that there were certain organic lines out there that were simply unfashionable. I knew that buying organic was a huge step for the planet and my baby, but couldn’t there be some way to incorporate style into the master plan? That’s when I found ERGObaby’s Organic Carrier by Petunia Pickle Bottom and I was stopped dead in my tracks.
Finally, there was a product that combined function and fashion. ERGObaby has long been known for its ergonomically friendly design, as well as, a safe, secure haven for babywearing. Petunia Pickle Bottom is known for it’s stunning prints. When these two pair, it really is a match made in baby carrier heaven.
If worn with an infant insert, the carrier is all-in-one and can be used through all of baby’s carrying years or up to 45 pounds. The carrier can be worn in the front, back or hip positions and is comfortable for both the baby and parent by placing the weight on the hips and shoulders of the parent. The organic cotton provides for a soft ride for your little one and the design allows for security and safety of baby’s hips, pelvis and spine. My favorite feature is that it promotes bonding time with my little guy by allowing me to wear him while I do the dishes or take a walk.
In case you are unfamiliar with ERGObaby’s design, here’s a look at everything it has to offer:

  • 100 percent organic cotton twill
  • 100 percent organic cotton sateen lining and hood
  • 100 percent organic cotton batting in body of carrier for soft edges
  • One inch high density EVA foam in waist belt
  • 57 inch waist belt
  • Body height adjustable from 5 feet to 6 and a half feet
  • Adjustable shoulder and chest straps
  • A hood for sleeping with elastic to adjust to a growing baby
  • Webbing matched to carrier color and reinforced stiching
  • Inferior rip-stop reinforcements at intersections of stress
  • Tested for strength up to 90 pounds
  • Machine washable-cold, gentle cycles, mild detergent, no bleach and dried on low heat

That info alone is enough to get my green blood flowing but the fact that it looks so chic has me over the moon. Every time I wear this carrier, it is sure to cause a plethora of questions about its style. It really is gorgeous. I have this carrier in the “Peaceful Portofino” print. It is sweet and chic and has just the right tone of blue to be used for either a boy or a girl. (Meaning I can use this with additional bambinos!)

But this cutie also comes in a “Bottom Heavenly Holland” print that is sure to turn just as many heads:

And if you thought that was all, check out this chic carry option in “Bottom Evening in Innsbruck”:

You really can’t ask for more in a carrier. I love the print. I love that its organic and I love that my baby loves to ride around in it.
