I’m a huge fan of Dante Beatrix and would love to have just about anything from their line, so when I found out I’d get to road test one of their stroller totes, I was thrilled.
I’d had an ongoing virtual affair with the peace tote for some time, so you can imagine the excitement I felt when it came time to meet my e-love in person.
He’s every bit as beautiful in person as he is online, folks. Though, I must admit, he was a little smaller than I’d imagined (which is completely a misconception on my part, seeing as the measurements of the bag are provided on the site—18″x5″x12″, in case you were wondering.) The quality of the bag is superb, daring you to use and abuse it and promising to continue looking like new. I had been a little concerned that the white background behind the peace sign would be dirty after two days in my possession, but as it turns out, there’s a smart, hardly noticeable (shine-free) coating on the canvas that repels liquids and is entirely wipeable.
With a name like stroller tote, this guy is clearly meant to strap onto the pram—and the adjustable stroller straps allow it to do just that. A long strap allows you to use it buggy-free as well, slinging it on your shoulder or across your chest messenger style.
Inside, the tote has a light tan lining and a tidy feel. The pockets are fairly small, so I counted on the diaper pouches and snack bags I already owned to help keep things organized. Although soft-sided, the bag has a sturdy structure, which I found I really liked. For the most part, things stayed where I put them without shifting around too much, so I could easily locate them again when necessary. I also liked the zip top closure, which assured me things would remain inside the bag at all times, even if, say, accidentally turned upside down.
While this is certainly not a haul-everything-but-the-kitchen-sink type of bag (Dante Beatrix’s haul totes would probably be better at getting that job done), they are great for the average adventure at the park or trip to the store. And I actually really like that it’s not ginormous. It’s nice being able to walk down the street without flashing lights and a “wide load” sign escorting me.
