    Boon Flair highchair

Highchairs are a necessary evil when raising kids. They provide a safe place for my children to eat while preventing tumbles from the “big kid” chairs. However, every model I have ever used is a royal pain to clean. I’ve tried both economy and high-end highchairs and they all seem to boast more nooks and crannies than an English muffin.

I’ve spent countless hours attempting to clean out all the gunk that accumulates, only to finish just in time for the next meal. (I’ve always wondered if the designers of these chairs actually have children.) Apparently, the makers of the Boon Flair have grown tired of the elbow grease required to keep most highchairs clean and have designed a seat that is not only easy to clean, but one that looks pretty darn cool too.

There are no seams on the seat, which means daddy isn’t using a straight pin in a futile attempt to clean out the crevices and cracks that seemingly fill highchairs of the past. The tray is dishwasher-safe. The seat cushion removes for a quick wipe down. The ease of cleaning alone sold me on the Flair, the other features are just gravy. And when it comes to bonus features, the Boon is loaded.

The Flair features a pneumatic (any word starting with “pn” has to be great, right?) lift that allows for continuously adjustable height. The hands-free brake allows you to secure the highchair with your feet while holding your little one. The lift and brake let baby eat with mom and dad at various table heights, a feature that is uncommon and rarely executed as well. The highchair’s base rests on six urethane casters allowing it to glide effortlessly over my hardwood kitchen floors without leaving a scratch. There are no tricky wheels to maneuver and manually lock or unlock like other models I have tried. The features are intuitive and simple (yet for some reason not standard on other seats). The Flair is truly a revolution in highchair technology.

With its seamless seat and easy-to-use features, one would think the Flair would have to have a downside. If it does, I haven’t found it. I know for it doesn't fall short on style. The Flair blends classic good looks with modern simplicity. It's, quite simply, cool. It is available in a variety of colors from subtle to bold, catering to each individual’s taste while maintaining a silhouette that will look good—and stay clean—for years to come.
