I’m really excited about my first organic diaper bag courtesy of Apple & Bee, a carbon neutral, climate-friendly design company from down under. These creative Aussies are committed to producing high-quality, durable and sustainable products. The company also established the nonprofit Bee Foundation to help promote awareness of honey bees and their impact on the health & well-being of the earth and its residents. Portions of Apple & Bee’s profits are donated to this and other environmental organizations—business philosophies and practices that appeal to my maternal instincts.
This super cute, roomy diaper tote is made of a neutral-colored, organic calico with a whimsical, modern giraffe print accented in yellow, orange and pink. Gracing the exterior of the bag is a medium-sized snap pocket along with sturdy cotton canvas rope shoulder handles. The main body of the bag is lined in a solid, light beige organic calico and has a zipper closure which keeps all of baby’s gear from spilling out. There is a large internal zipper pocket, great for stashing your wallet, phone and keys. In case you need it, an extendable cross-shoulder strap attachment provides another hands-free carrying option.
Apple & Bee’s diaper bags may not come with perfectly coordinated, fancy accessories, but that works out well for people like me who want to choose their own bottle bag and wipes case and avoid being too matchy-matchy. The lightweight Baby Daily Bag is also available in a sweet bird print for all the ornithological fans out there!
