I’m now solidly into the first month of the second trimester, and I’m seriously wondering when I’m going to feel hungry! Where is that ravenous hunger that people keep raving about?
My most recent web searches include:
- lack of hunger during pregnancy
- pregnancy with no appetite
- second trimester appetite
- why am I not hungry while pregnant?
Even before I was pregnant, I didn’t really eat much in the way of giant meals, so I would make a point to be choosy about the foods I did eat to make sure I was getting enough nutrients. I would eat fresh eggs, avocados, meat, fresh salsa by the truckload, etc.
Single-pregnancy mommas are advised to eat an extra 300-350 calories a day (rather than the buckets of ice cream, fried chicken, and tacos we all dreamed of), so I haven’t been too concerned, but I sure do want to feel like I need to eat the entire contents of my neighborhood Whataburger!
In extra exciting news, week 18 is when we have our detailed sonogram appointment and find out baby’s sex! (Squeal!) My next post will contain lots of exciting midwife and OB/GYN appointment news!
