IMG_5406Oliver finally started crawling. Sort of. Maybe. Possibly. I think so. Depending on who you ask, or how you define crawling, my baby is crawling. He pivots, half-rolls, reaches out, drags a few limbs, and somehow moves his body two to three feet in one direction. So yes, he crawls.
His technique has improved steadily over the past week, and he now has a few favorite crawling destinations. In no particular order, Oliver’s favorite places in the living room are as follows. Enjoy:
The Christmas Tree:
This should come as no surprise to anyone that has ever been around an infant during the holiday season. When he first saw our tree one morning, Oliver grinned.  If I were to guess, I would say that he was thinking “Do they really think that putting the star on top will keep me from eating it?”
An Ugly Basket (in which we place old magazines):
He must think that we keep delicious treats in the basket. I prefer to think that he is a sophisticated baby that has developed an appreciation for Time Magazine and National Geographic. Just kidding. He probably wants treats.
His Parents:
Much like Oliver’s infatuation with the Christmas tree, this obsession makes perfect sense. My wife is easily the prettiest person in the room, so it is not difficult to understand why Oliver would be drawn to her. As for me, I may or may not smear baby food all over my face in order to lure him over to my side of the room.  I have no shame.
Giant Mirrors:
I could have sworn that he winked at himself the other day. And yes, it was adorable.
