Little fish

0715AIMJenniferDavisWe started swimming lessons this week, and I have to say, Isaac is a little fish. We’ve taken him to the pool a few times this summer, so I knew he liked the water, and he loves splashing around during bath time. He must take after me, because I have always loved swimming. My parents tell a story from when I was about two. A cousin of mine jumped off our boat into the lake and I had a complete fit. At first they thought I was worried about him, but quickly realized I was yelling “my do it!” From then on, they kept an extra close eye on me around water!
Anyway, these parent-child swimming lessons are a blast!  It’s so fun to see all the babies and their different reactions to the water. Not all of them are as happy to be there as Isaac.
We’re working on blowing bubbles, kicking and floating on our backs. Really, Isaac is too young for most anything, but I wanted to start him young. It will be interesting to see if he actually picks up on any of this by the end of the two weeks. In the mean time, he loves watching mommy blow bubbles and sing songs, and loves “swimming” after the ball. He’s a little go-getter.
Also, a nice bonus, is that these swimming lessons really wear him out. There have been some epic afternoon naps around here. Yay for water babies!
