Maybe 2009 is my year!
Dec 29, 2008Getting organized is a daily goal of mine, unfortunately I often fall short. Dirty dishes, left behind necessities, showing up on the wrong day for doctors appointments, laundry, work schedule...can I get an amen? Ok, so you're more on top of it than I am. If you are however a Mom like me trying to stay afloat, you will love my new obsession: MomAgenda.
My pick is the mini daily day planner, which is now 40% off ( Sambo unfortunately paid full price):
I love that there is a daily planner equipped with a to-do list (I love a good to-do list), space for up to four children to keep up with their schedules, and there is also a monthly calendar to get a good view to plan out your next spa day.
In the back is the Mom Essentials mini booklet, a place for addresses and phone numbers as well as all of your important info: insurance providers, car info, birthdays and more.
I also love the chore pad. All of the kids can get in on helping around the house, not to mention your significant other. Perfect for making sure everyone is doing their fair share!
The family planner is a great way to keep from double booking. Keep it in eyes reach for all to see to eliminate extra stress and the hassles of rescheduling!
Right now everything is 20% off!
No CommentsOld Navy teams with Charlie Harper
Dec 22, 2008Acclaimed wildlife illustrator, Charley Harper, captures the hearts of anyone who comes across his simple and imaginative creatures. His beautiful drawings can now be found at your local Old Navy. Strange pairing? Not really. Todd Oldham, creative director of Old Navy, has been a long time fan of Harper's work. He even went as far as to compile all of his illustrations in to one big, beautiful coffee table book. Lucky for us, now our babes can also be a part of Harper's legacy.

No CommentsBreastfeeding Jewelry?
Dec 22, 2008These are great gifts for new moms, nursing moms, or pregnant moms! I think I've covered all the moms. Breastfeeding jewelry is a stylish and wonderful way to keep up with which breast was nursed on last and which breast to start nursing with. They are an array of avenues you can go down, starting with MilkBands:
These bands flip inside out, displaying either "left" or "right" and they also track length and time between nursing. Brilliant!
Only $6.95
I also found these beaded reminder bracelets by Baby Feeding Bracelets. The small beads represent 15 min and the larger beads represent an hour. You simply move the charm to track yourself. This bracelets work for bottle fed babies as well and a pregnant mama can use it to track kicks in the womb!
$19.99
Another less obvious option are these lovely bra beads by CoolHarmonie that attach to the top of your bra strap.
$4.50 for pair
These nursing necklaces by Bfbeads give your baby something to play with other than your hair! The beads are fun for your baby to look at and touch and they will keep babies restless hands at ease.

No CommentsMan bags
Oct 28, 2008Before you lust after that beautiful pastel diaper bag or go for the adorable prints (and trust me I love a good polka dot) hear me out. Your back will thank you if you choose a more neutral diaper bag that your man won't mind being seen with. With all of the heavy lifting ie car seat, stroller, baby, it's nice to have a little break. When your taking the entire house with you that bag ends up weighing more than your precious baby.
Here are some excellent options that will satisfy your desire for stylish baby things and won't hurt your significant others pride:
Our pick (and Brad Pitts): Diaper Dude $60
I love the messenger style of this bag as well as all of the pockets, and bonus...there is a built in stroller strap so nobody has to hold a thing!
Another gender friendly pick is Skip Hop $65
Naomi Watts is a fan, shown here with Dash Deluxe in Olive

An alternative to the more popular bags is the
Emily bag by Jimeale $90
The Emily bag is favored by funny couple Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen

Take your time making a decision because you will be lugging that diaper bag around for quite a long time!
No CommentsSexy bras for breast-feeding mamas?
Oct 15, 2008After looking at my cheapo beige nursing bras hanging to dry and my husband telling me that they look "medicinal," I became a bit depressed. Just because I'm breast feeding doesn't mean I want to look like a school marm. I decided that I needed to search for some fun yet practical bras! Beige and white beware...I want fun and sexy.
I found these nursing bras from Agent Provocateur and my insides lit up. It's like they new exactly what I wanted.

Aren't they pretttty? Maggie Gyllenhall is also a fan! After modeling for the line she picked up all three styles.

No CommentsPostpartum Wardrobe
Oct 6, 2008I had always envisioned myself leaving the hospital with that sweet little bundle of joy looking like my formal self. The reality was a little different. I still looked about 5 months pregnant and that lovely belly hugging jersey wasn't doing many any favors! The best thing you can do for your wardrobe post baby is to stick to cotton. A more structured fabric hides whatever is lurking underneath, just make sure you leave room for your ever growing bosom.
Shift dresses are an easy and flattering fix, just make sure there is a loose neck if you're breast feeding.
Sun Field Dress
Deciduous Shift
Pair these with some
bold colored tights (control top please) and
fun flats and you're one fancy mama!
Color Palette Tights
Sea and Fog Flats
Other great options are
loose fitting tops paired with your
maternity pants (sorry, unless you're Heidi Klum, you're not getting out of those for atleast a few weeks). I love that look paired with a
grandpa cardigan for fall.
Lazuli Bunting Turtleneck
Lemon Drops Tee
plus
True North Cardigan
All clothing and accessories from Anthropologie.com
Now you'll have quite the spring in your step as you and your sweet baby venture out in style. The more accessories the better! This season is all about the embellishment and no one deserves to be adorned more than a new mom.

No CommentsSteal Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's Pregnancy Style for under $100
Written by Lesley Graham on Sep 22, 2008 When I first found out that Ashlee was pregnant I was really excited to see how she would incorporate her new bump in to her funky wardrobe. Being the wife of rocker Pete Wentz and also having her own music career, I guessed her choices would be a bit edgier than most.
Ashlee has been spotted wearing a lot of black mixed with fun accessories. This look is actually really practical for pregnant women because you can mix and match and get a lot of wear out of each item. I also like that it works throughout your pregnancy not just at the beginning when you're rosy cheeked and barely showing!

Scarves have been a mainstay in Hollywood wardrobes for several seasons. I love the bright Alexander McQueen skull scarf, but if you want the look for less here are some great options:
I love these scarves from Forever21.com
$7.80
$9.90
$8.80
$9.80
The black lantern sleeve top could just as easily be worn with jeans, add a long tank underneath for length. I think the biggest misconception about maternity style is that you have to shop maternity. All you need to do is go up a size or two in womens and your set!
Latern sleeve top from bluefly.com:
Leo and Sage $29.99
If you feel safer wearing maternity, this top from Liz Lange for Target is a steal!
$4.24
With basics, I would stick to maternity because you can layer your regular tops over them to extend your wardrobe. They are also longer than regular tanks to keep you from tugging on them.
Long tank from target.com:
Eve Alexander $11.99
As far as leggings go, the trend is still there but the length is long. The elastic waist band is ultra comfortable for moms to be, just make sure you're covered where you need to be!
I love these leggings from AmericanApparel.com because of the high waist band which you could roll down as your belly grows:
$30
Top the outfit off with your favorite back heels or flats and you're set!
