Most babies cut their first teeth between 4 and 7 months of age and complete their toothy grins with a mouthful of 20 choppers by 3 years.
Symptoms of teething often begin three to five days before a tooth breaks through. Look for these indications of an impending incisor:
• Drooling
• Fussiness
• Trouble sleeping
• Refusal to eat
• Swollen and sensitive gums
Fast fact: One in 2,000 babies is born with teeth.
