One of the earliest sounds your baby learns to recognize is his name. Some studies say that babies will turn their heads toward the calling out of their name as early as 4 months. As your baby learns new words and sounds through the reading of stories and interactions from you, his name will become one of his favorite words to hear.
The creative folks at I See Me Books have developed a fun way to engage your baby or older child in reading by incorporating your child's name into a storybook. By personalizing each tale, your baby can be entertained by the repetition of their own title as you snuggle up for book time, and older children can start to recognize their name in print and identify the letters associated with their label.
There are books for new babies, for big girls and big boys, and even books for specific occasions like birthdays. Their virtual walk-through of the “My Very Own Name” book shows how the animals work together to select the correct letters to spell out your child's name with care. Adorable!
