    Traveling light with baby

Travel season is upon us, and those bag-checking fees aren't getting any lower. We've rounded up some great portable, compact gear for road-tripping or flying with baby in tow.

This cool baby hammock can be used on a plane for baby's nap in your lap, or as a high chair (for your sitting up babe) once you've reached your destination. FlyeBaby, $40

You'll want to have your hands free sometimes, both in the airport and during your time away. Acarrier can help with that! Plus, a single piece of fabric like a wrap carrier can fold away to almost nothing in your suitcase. Moby Wrap, from $40

If you need to have a stroller on hand for your trip, pack a lightweight, compact one that can be collapsed to fit in your trunk or toted through security with one hand. Chicco Capri, $80

If you're traveling with baby plus an older sibling over 33 pounds, save yourself from having to lug two carseats along and try this inflatable booster for your big kid. Easycarseat, $83

And while we're on the topic of inflatable gear, a sleep space that fits into a backpack sounds like the ultimate travel companion for a mom or dad on the go to us! Guava Family GoCrib, $200
