    Remain neutral

Neutral in color doesn't have to mean boring in design.

As someone who is drawn to the bright and bold (sometimes I think I should pass out sunglasses to houseguests), I rarely pick out cream/beige/eggshell/wheat/white/tan/taupe/you-get-the-point pieces for my own home. And yet, I never cease to admire the warm and cozy spaces some families manage to create with nary so much as a tint from the rainbow. The rooms tend to feel light and airy, clean and crisp, and endlessly serene—so much so, in fact, that I'm occasionally tempted to abandoned my colorful chaos in favor of more subtle surroundings.

Whether they're not finding out baby's gender or they simply appreciate the calm of the colorless, many mom's can appreciate a neutral nursery—and frankly, I don't blame them. With the right style-savvy staples, your little one's monochromatic haven can be surprisingly eye-catching.
