P&N holiday gift guide: Blogger's picks

Written by: Candace

Throughout the month of December, we'll be sharing our picks for great gifts this holiday season. Today, our Design to Die For blogger Candace shares her son Charlie's Christmas wish list.

When it comes to the holidays I am a total kid at heart.I have literally been working on Charlie’s Wish List for months.I think I finally have it narrowed down to a few (well several) fun new items.

Charlie’s big Santa gift this year is this super fun Little Tikes School Bus Activity Gym.I love Little Tikes products because they are always so well-made and this gym is no exception. It also boasts loads of cool features including spinning tires, a spinning steering wheel, a folding stop sign, and of course a slide!I can’t wait to see Charlie’s eyes light up when he sees it!

As mother I must include something practical on his list.Since I have always been a huge fan of the adorable, soft, leather soled shoes from Pediped I knew those would be a great fit.Charlie’s stocking will be stuffed with these sweet kicks and so we don’t leave out the lovely ladies (and because I can’t resist little girl’s shoes) I made a pick for the girls as well.

Charlie’s shopping list includes several toys by the environmentally friendly toy company Green Toys.Green Toys are made from recycled plastic and other environmentally friendly materials.Another thing I love about these toys is that they are so simple, just like the toys I played with as a child, they don’t ring, flash, or make obnoxious sounds.

The block set includes 18 blocks that are the perfect size for young toddlers to practice stacking and for older toddlers to create castles, train tunnels, or anything their imaginations can dream up!

We’ve been looking forward to trying the Green Toys Stacker for quite a while now.Charlie has stacking cups and rings, but the unique design of this Stacker is simply ideal. They are great for developing hand eye coordination and are a perfect mommy-toddler activity.

The Bilibo is the perfect toy for the budding imagination of a toddler or preschooler. It is a… well, It’s whatever you want it to be, a seat, a bucket, a turtle shell, a drum, a cooking pot, a ship…I can’t wait to see how Charlie interacts with it.

Charlie absolutely adores books. He likes to be read to, but really enjoys sitting and just perusing his favorite title alone.I can’t wait for him to experience the Tag Junior by LeapFrog. It is a simple, easy to use reading device for toddlers and preschoolers.

This funky yellow pal is called Rody, a hippity hop ride-on Horse. He’s made of super strong latex free vinyl and actually grows with your child, simply add more air. He’s great for developing balance and coordination and comes in loads of bright colors.Charlie is sure to love him!

Charlie has always been a fan of Baby Einstein—he has several of their toys and videos and just adores them!So we are excited to try Baby Einstein’s newest creation, Discovery Kits, each of which includes 3 products, a DVD, a music CD, and either a colorful book or Discovery Cards. What a great idea!I’m planning on letting Santa tuck these into Charlie’s stocking.

Charlie is really into Sesame Street these days. What toddler isn’t?His favorite characters are Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Ernie or as Charlie likes to call them “Ba”, “Cuh”, and “Bo”, respectively.I know he is going to go gaga for this super soft and fluffy gang of Sesame Street friends by Gund.

These organic stroller toys by miYim will make the perfect stocking stuffers for my sweet little man. He loves to stroll, but sometimes needs a distraction while we are out, these toys will be just the ticket! They make quiet, soothing sounds and I feel 100 percent comfortable with him gnawing away on them since they are organic and super safe.

I couldn’t resist throwing in a couple of shots of my sweet little Charlie from last Christmas. He was 4 months old and an absolute joy!

This is a snapshot of Charlie on Christmas morning, with his Baby Einstein Around the World Soother. It is still in his crib and he simply adores it!
