I’ve been ecstatic that my daughter Mary Claire has been as happy a nursing baby as Charlie was.
Between Charlie and Mary Claire (who is still nursing) I’ve logged almost 16 months of quality time with my little ones at the breast. I wouldn’t trade that time for anything in the world. I will say that part of our success is due to a few great products. Sure anybody can nurse a baby—no purchase required, but it’s a whole lot more comfortable and enjoyable with the right gear.
My son and I started nursing with a good old-fashioned hospital pillow. Getting a good latch was quite a challenge. We were both eager to try, but I was left very uncomfortable. Luckily this little beauty, the My Brest Friend Original Pillow, was waiting for us at home. It provided great support and made us both much more comfortable. When Mary Claire made her appearance two years later, I was wise enough to have the My Brest Friend pillow waiting on me in my hospital room.
A nice nursing cover is a new mama must. Sure you can cover up with a blanket, but that can be tricky when your baby gets to the wiggling stage. Plus they come in so many adorable prints, who can resist! Check out the funky styles by Bebe au Lait.
I don’t know a mommy out there who hasn’t left the hospital with a weight loss plan in the back of her head. Usually avoiding sweets can be found somewhere in that plan. Which is just one of the reasons I love Milkin’ Cookies. Milkin’ Cookies actually increase mommies milk supply and they’re the perfect excuse to indulge in a sweet treat post baby. They taste great and I really did notice a difference in my supply.
Oh, how I wish I had known about the Milkies Milk Saver when I had Charlie. This handy little product tucks easily in your bra and collects leaking milk from the non-nursing side. I’ve been able to stash lots of milk without pumping, which I despise. A total lifesaver!
I must admit that every time I saw an advertisement for the Easy Expression Bustier prebaby, I would chuckle. Then I pumped for the first time and my feelings quickly changed. The Easy Expressions Bustier by Medela is pure genius! I’m not sure I would have made it through pumping at work without it. The picture really says it all. Strap this little beauty on and continue working (with the door locked of course) or eat your lunch.
