One thing I didn’t realize as a first time mom but now know oh-so-well is that nursing, though beneficial for mommy and baby, can be very inconvenient.
Don’t get me wrong I love nursing my babies, but let’s be honest, wearing a bra and nursing pads around the clock for months on end is a bit uncomfortable. With baby number two in tow I knew that proper nighttime nursing apparel was a huge priority.

Motherwear is an old pro when it comes to nursing attire so they were an obvious stop on my nursing wear hunt. Their Capri PJ Nursing Set is a perfect post-pregnancy pair. It includes a comfy, flattering, sleeveless top with an empire waist—simply lift and nurse, while keeping your belly covered. It also includes elastic pants, perfect for the transition from the pre- to post pregnancy body. This sweet set is available in two feminine colors and sizes S through 3x.
Shortly after receiving my first Motherwear order I received an email from Motherwear offering breastfeeding support. They offer several valuable resources for nursing mothers including their Essential Breastfeeding Guide. Now, that’s customer service!

If you’re looking for a modern nursing gown then Aimee has you covered. Their Nursing Gown is soft, comfy and perfect for the nursing mother, but can even be comfortably worn post-nursing. My favorite feature of the Aimee Gown is its built in sleep bra. It is snug, yet loose enough to be comfortable and is ideal for holding nursing pads in place without the use of an additional bra. It’s made from a 95% cotton and 5% lycra blend, allowing a little stretch for those pre- or post pregnancy curves and comes in five flattering colors. Pair it with Aimee’s Nursing Robe for a perfect, discrete nursing pair.

I am so crazy about this Paisley Print Nursing Set by Expressiva that I wish I had another set. I started wearing it when I was 9 months pregnant because I just couldn’t resist the wonderfully soft fabric and am loving it for nursing now that Mary Claire has been born. It features an drop-down front that is so convenient and easy. I absolutely adore the paisley print and feel very pretty, almost sexy in it, which is a lot to say at only a month postpartum. It is made from a viscose/spandex mix that is so very comfy and flattering. A perfect pair!

Majamas is well known for their exquisite line of unique nursing nightwear. They have a large line of comfy gear in fun prints and flattering solids. One of my favorites is their Lacey MJ. This cozy little pair includes a pull-over nursing top and fun capri both accented with a touch of soft lacy trim. This set is great for the new nursing mother and features a unique inside breast pad pocket, perfect for keeping those pads in place and mommy and baby comfortably dry. Choose from one of three funky prints or their more reserved solids. I chose black and love the slimming effect. Be sure to check out their sister line Nixilu for fun daytime nursing wear!

Now, here’s the gown you want to pack in your hospital bag and I actually packed it in mine! The Jayne Mom & Baby Set from Belabumbum is the ideal hospital set for mom and baby, it features a luxurious, comfortable nursing chemise with a drop-down nursing front and a cozy little cardigan. This pair is perfect for nursing discretely which of course is a must when your hospital room is crowded with back to back visitors. It’s made of 100 percent pima cotton which is soft and smooth against mommy and baby’s delicate skin. But the best part is the adorable little baby set that perfectly matches mommy. It includes a sweet kimono style top and elastic waist pants and is available in both blue and coral. The perfect set for hospital room pics with the new babe.
