Having a baby is not only life-changing, it’s house-changing. Your once beautiful home will never (or at least not in the near future) be the same. So during the month of January I’m going room-by-room with lists of baby must haves for the whole home.
The bathroom is one room that requires a lot of gear and prep. It’s amazing just how many things such a tiny person can require! Here are my top bathroom picks.
Obviously, you’re going to want a place to bathe that tiny munchkin and for the first couple of months, the big tub just won’t do. My favorite option with Charlie was the Puj Tub, a foldable baby bathtub that fits in most sinks. Here he is at four months old relaxing during a warm bath in his Puj tub.
Hair rinsing has always been a source of contention with Charlie. He absolutely hates it, but the Dunck makes this so much easier. This adorable set of stacking bath toys serves double-duty as convenient hair rinsers, so much easier than leaning back under the faucet!
Charlie has always loved playing in the bathtub and we practice the “bathe till pruney”philosophy in our home. One of his favorite new toys is this adorable little Tugboat by Green Toys. This colorful craft is made in the USA from 100% recycled plastic milk containers. It is recommended for babies 6 months and up and has made a real splash at our house!
Before long, your little one will be crawling all over the big bathtub and for some reason the faucet seems to be an instant source of amusement and curiosity. Protect your babies noggin, while still allowing them to explore their environment, with the adorable Moby spout cover by Skip Hop. This sweet whale is made of a soft, flexible, rubber that keeps your darlings head safe while adding a fun accent to a kid’s bathroom.
You will certainly want a place to store all those fabulous bath toys so they don’t sit dripping in the floor of the tub until your little one’s next bath time. For this job I am crazy about the bath Toy Store by Kuster, this handy bin not only stores, but also drains toys in between baths.Perfect!
I have always been a big fan of the functional, unique products by Boon. They always seem to have something totally different from everyone else and I love to shop their bath toys for Charlie. His latest fave are their Water Bugs which includes three colorful “bugs” and a fun net. It is great for developing dexterity and Charlie simply adores it!
Some children are ready to begin potty training at as early as 18 months (which we are hoping is the case at our house). Whenever your little one is ready, the 3-in-1 Potty by Safety 1st is a must-have. It’s 3-in-1 design features potty, trainer seat, and step stool. It has lots of functional features such as a cushy seat, flip up lid, and removable bowl for easy cleaning. It is great for teaching both boys and girls!
